Mason Gem Days: A Weekend of Deals & Discoveries

Get ready to shop, save, and search for hidden treasures during Mason Gem Days, a community-wide shopping celebration in Mason, Texas! Inspired by Texas’s official state gem, blue topaz, Mason Gem Days brings together local businesses, residents, and visitors for a weekend filled with major discounts, sidewalk sales, rock hunts, special promotions, and fun activities throughout town.

Celebrating Mason County’s Gemstone Heritage

Did you know that blue topaz became the official state gem of Texas on March 26, 1969? The Texas Legislature selected a gemstone with a special connection to Mason County, where natural, gem-quality topaz is found. Mason County has become well known among rockhounds and gemstone enthusiasts for its topaz deposits and opportunities to search for these unique Texas treasures. Unlike gemstones associated with many different places, Texas blue topaz has a particularly strong connection to Mason County’s land and history. This heritage makes Mason a special destination for those interested in geology, rockhounding, and the natural treasures found right here in our part of Texas. Mason Gem Days celebrates that connection by bringing our gemstone heritage together with the local shopping, small businesses, and community pride that make Mason special.
