Description

The May 21 free Classic Movie Night at the Odeon Theater features the 1994 classic The Shawshank Redemption. Convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence, a quiet banker, Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), tries to survive prison by clinging to hope — and befriending a fellow lifer named Red (Morgan Freeman). The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor. Robbins and Freeman were also both nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role at the inaugural Screen Actors Guild Awards in 1995.
