Wineries and Vineyards
Fly Gap Winery, a proud Texas Hill Country wine producer, is rooted in the rugged beauty and cultural legacy of Mason County. Our name and our story come from the very land we call home. In the 1800s, early settlers named the “Fly Gap” after their horses were attacked by swarms of horseflies while hiding in a gap of the Kothman Mountains. Today, we are the descendants of those pioneers—and we carry on their legacy with a deep commitment to community, culture, and craft.
At Fly Gap Winery, our mission is to express the unique terroir of Texas—especially the diverse soils and elevations of Mason County—through purposeful, place-driven winemaking. Founded by Brock Estes in 2012, Fly Gap Winery began as a dream shaped by the land he grew up on and a passion discovered while apprenticing under renowned winemaker Don Pullum. Today, that dream lives on in every bottle we produce.
Fly Gap Winery is committed to celebrating the land beneath our feet. Mason County is home to an incredibly diverse terroir, with soils ranging from schist and granite to sandstone and limestone. Our long-term goal is to plant estate vineyards in each soil type to fully express the region’s winemaking potential. We also proudly collaborate with growers across Texas to tell their stories through our wines.
We believe in Mason. We believe in Texas. And we invite you to share in our story—one glass at a time.
Come fly with us at Fly Gap Winery—where old roots meet a young spirit.
